On May 16th 2019, SureCloud won the two awards it was nominated for at the DCS Awards, at Grange St Paul’s Hotel, in London.
The Awards
The DCS awards are designed to reward the product designers, manufacturers, suppliers and providers operating in data centre arena. The Awards recognise the achievements of the vendors and their business partners alike and this year encompassed a wider range of both facilities and information technology award categories designed to address all of the main areas of the datacentre market in Europe.
Cloud Project of the Year
The first award was for Cloud Project of the Year presented by Philip Alsop, Editor Digitalisation World. This award was based on our Pentest-as-a-Service offering hosted on our cloud-based platform for Equiom Group.
All cybersecurity services were delivered as part of our penetration testing services, Pentest-as-a-Service, which provides a centralised platform for managing all elements of the projects, including Equiom’s network security, vulnerability remediation programme.
Stephen Roberts, Global IT Director for Equiom Group, commented: “SureCloud was the obvious choice as the team is extremely knowledgeable, and the company had invested heavily in its cloud-based platform to create a technical solution that is far more developed than anything else in the marketplace. We felt working with SureCloud would enable us to provide a single snapshot of our security posture at any given time. Ultimately, the cloud-based platform offered us the ability to simplify the overall management process, which was a key differentiator for us.”

GDPR Compliance Project of the Year
The second award of the night was for the GDPR Compliance Project presented by Andrew Marais of our Headline Sponsor Kohler. The project was based on the successful implementation of SureCloud’s GDPR solution into Everton’s work processes.
In partnership with NCC Group, SureCloud worked closely with Everton to determine the data and systems they used and which third parties they shared information with. This was an extensive task that involved working with various departments within the Club, but the SureCloud GDPR Suite helped to streamline it.
“Each time you add an information asset, it means that a lot of the information is already in the system when you move on to mapping, and then to processing,” said Ian Garratt, Data Protection Officer at Everton. “Essentially, it got quicker and easier to crunch the numbers and populate the appropriate fields the more we used the platform.” Now, all of Everton’s disparate data are mapped, risk-assessed and tracked in a single centralized system. All changes and requests are automatically tracked so that activity records and data audits can be produced at the click of a button.

The wins demonstrate the broad capabilities of our cloud-based Platform, the quality of our Services, and the strong relationships we have with Equiom Group and Everton Football Club.
