What To See and Do At Infosecurity Europe 2019

 

It’s that time of year again when the cybersecurity industry descends on Olympia, London for the annual Infosecurity Europe 2019, one of Europe’s biggest security events. For 23 years, the Infosecurity Group have been inspiring businesses with their knowledge of the Cybersecurity Industry. This year’s theme is “Cybersecurity 4.0: Complexity, Risk and Resilience”.

The three-day event is packed full of inspirational keynote speakers, technology showcases and training workshops, all hosted by some of the industry’s most high-profile figures. Infosecurity Europe 2019 will be a fantastic opportunity to network with peers and experts in the field and also grab some free merchandise. Welcoming over 100 NEW exhibitors, this year’s event is expected to be bigger than ever before!

As Infosecurity Europe 2019 approaches, here are the top 3 things to look out for at this popular Cybersecurity Event.

1. Geek Street

Looking for fun tech security research? Then Geek Street is the place for you! The events exciting new feature will consist of ‘in-depth, independent technical research sessions and immersive, hands-on experiences.’

Games not to miss

Two of the new experiences featured this year are the “Capture The Flag Competition” and “The Escape Room!”

SANS Institute; the global leader in cybersecurity training and certifications, will be hosting one of the most anticipated events; The SANS Capture the Flag competition which has been designed to challenge the wits and skills of all industry professionals. It will be the first time such a game has been featured and will run across all three days of the event.

Also featured is The Infosecurity Escape Room which will have an array of puzzles and codes that need to be cracked before the time runs out.

SureCloud to speak at Geek Street

Our very own Senior Security Consultant; Elliott Thompson will be a guest speaker in the Geek Street Theatre at 1 pm on 04th June 2019. We are looking forward to hearing Elliott discuss a critical disclosure discovered on the children’s VTech Storio Max tablet, which allowed attackers full access to the device. The story was featured on BBC One and the vulnerability was granted a CVE.

2. Women in Cybersecurity Networking Event

Wednesday 05th June, 08.30-11.00- Pillar Hall

The networking event hosted by Infosecurity’s Magazine editor; Eleanor Dalloway, will focus on celebrating the progress and achievements that have been accomplished by the women of Cybersecurity. It will also concentrate on the opportunities but also challenges that women face in the industry.

Recently named in the top 50 women in tech in Europe, professor Sue Black will be giving an inspirational presentation, ‘If I can do it, so can you’. Sue was the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 and is one of the leading tech personalities in the UK today. A panel discussion and Q&A will accompany her speech.

3. Inspirational keynote speakers to go and see

• 10:15 am 04th June 2019 -Kate Adie – Former BBC Chief News Reporter will be presenting ‘Perspectives from the Frontline: Managing Risk & Building Resilience’. Kate will be sharing some of her experiences on how she managed risk, safety and security as she broadcasted from war zones around the world. Focusing on how she has remained resilient and the inspiration she has taken from her experiences.

• 11.25am 05th June 2019 – Dame Inga Beale- Former CEO of Lloyds of London will be presenting ‘View from the Board: Managing Organisational Complexity & Risk’. Inga will share her perspective on how to change business and culture and the need to balance tradition and history, modernity and innovation when delivering digital transformation.

4. Securing SMEs Symposium

04th June 2019, 14:00 – 16:30 Pillar Hall

The 2018 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report discovered that approximately 58% of all cyber-attacks target small businesses. Smaller businesses are at a higher risk of being attacked as they are deemed as easy targets; larger companies may have the resources to implement heightened security and thus are less likely to be attacked.

A panel of experts will share the precautions that can be taken to ensure SME’S protect themselves from cyber attacks. This informative session is guaranteed to educate the world of SME on the measurements they can take to ensure their business is protected.
