SureCloud has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Security Consultant. This role is designed to be client facing, supporting our Advisory engagement delivery. SureCloud’s Risk Advisory function provides information assurance consultancy to a wide range of organisations, assisting them with understanding their cyber security posture and risk profile, such that controls are designed and implemented commensurate with these risks, in order to protect critical systems and information.

Job Description

SureCloud Risk Advisory offerings include a range of services that complement the SureCloud product offerings, supporting organisations to achieve the right level of cyber security maturity aligned to their business goals and risks.  This is achieved by a combination of undertaking cyber security maturity reviews, conducting cyber security risk assessments, developing security strategies and implementing governance frameworks (e.g. policies and processes).

As part of its growth strategy, SureCloud is seeking a Senior Security Consultant to aid in with:

  • Work closely with clients to understand the business needs and objectives for protecting their organisation, identify where they may have potential gaps and create innovative solutions for managing their cyber posture.
  • Provide expert advice and lead consultancy engagements to enable successful and value driven delivery through bespoke offerings.
  • Advise on security best practices as they relate to SureCloud technologies.
  • Use client solutioning to enhance service development by providing regular input to SureCloud Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and objectives for protecting their organisation, identify where they may have potential gaps and create innovative solutions for managing their cyber posture.
  • Enable successful delivery of client engagements and support our presales function.
  • Provide expert advice and lead consultancy engagements to enable successful and value driven delivery through bespoke offerings.
  • Advise on security best practices as they relate to SureCloud technologies.
  • Document and communicate technical findings and recommendations to a range of business stakeholders.
  • Actively participate within the SureCloud Community and wider Security Industry as an advocate and advisor, contributing to webinars and writing blogs.
  • Maintain the knowledge base of methodologies and recommendations aligned with standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, GDPR and other regulatory and industry oversight groups.

Personal Qualities

  • Proven experience with a strong background in information assurance, risk management and cyber security
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and control sets such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR etc.
  • Credible, confident and articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships and convey issues clearly and concisely to client stakeholders with tact and diplomacy and balance differing interests
  • Self-motivation and good personal organisation skills
  • Able to focus on specific targets and demonstrate target achievement
  • Able to build collaborative and effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Effective judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to organise own time and prioritise workload.

Competencies

  • Experience dealing with common security control domains: Governance Risk Compliance (GRC), Supply Chain Risk Management, Data Protection, Identity Access Management, Vulnerability Management, Business Intelligence, Detective Technologies, Security Monitoring, Incident Response
  • A strong and demonstrable knowledge of defence-in-depth approaches to securing networks, hardware, software and associated technologies
  • Demonstrable experience in the selection, configuration and implementation of information security technologies including encryption, network security, intrusion detection, email and data loss prevention.
  • Preferable: o Certified information security Manager (CISM); or o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) qualifications; or o A significant level of experience relating to leading an IS function that has delivered a secure, robust, sustainable and cost-effective technology infrastructure.

Other Important Information

  • This is a field-based role, therefore, 70-80% of the role is travel based.
  • Remuneration includes a variable component tied, but not limited, to services performance metrics and delivery utilisation.
  • This role requires mandatory background security clearance due to the nature of the work SureCloud carries out, therefore, you must be willing and able to undergo the vetting process.
