Following the success of our cybersecurity graduate program, SureCloud is looking for a Managing Consultant to be based in our Reading office. The successful candidate will lead the program into 2020 and beyond.This is a great career opportunity that requires technical penetration testing skills as well as advanced management and leadership skills.

Job Description

Initially, the consultant will directly manage our existing team of 4 graduates with a view of expanding this in Summer 2020. You will be pivotal to the success of this scheme and lead its expansion and development. You will be responsible for running penetration testing projects, with support from the graduate team. Individual billable utility could decrease as your team expands, provided overall utilization targets are met.

Required Skill Set 

The successful candidate will be able to maintain their professional‘ hands-on’ knowledge and experience by leading a variety of testing projects, which would use our graduate team as the secondary resource.

  • At least 3 years’ penetration testing experience at another consultancy or within an internal penetration testing team 
  • Management experience 
  • Consultative approach to work – customer-focused, willing to take ownership of tasks through to completion 

Desired Skillset

  • Experience of running a graduate program previously would be highly desirable
  • Industry-relevant qualifications such as OSCP, CRT, CCT and CHECK Team Leader
  • Testing experience/knowledge of modern network environments and web applications
  • Familiarity with OWASP and their various projects
  • Programming knowledge/experience would be beneficial
  • Experience with Cyber Essentials
  • Experience with Vulnerability Assessments
  • Commercial and pre-sales experience (including scoping)


The position is located in our Reading office with the need for occasional travel to client sites. Working hours will be 9am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday, with core hours of 10am to 4pm to allow for flexible working.Competitive salary offered, dependent on skill set and experience.
