2nd May 2018
SureCloud, a supplier of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Applications and Cybersecurity services,
sponsored and presented at the ISACA CACS 2018 conference in North America.
ISACA brought together professionals in the audit, security and compliant industries from across the world to Chicago on the 30th of April to the 2nd of May in 2018. The CACS conference hosted expert-led sessions which used hands-on, interactive techniques to help attendees develop new methods and practical knowledge to benefit their enterprise.
SureCloud’s presentation was delivered by COO Nick Rafferty, on the 1st of May at 8:30 AM. Nick looked at going beyond GDPR compliance with a process and data mapping program. He spoke about how compliance with the GDPR requires organizations to conduct process and data mapping exercises, which are onerous. However, organizations could save significant time and money by adopting a “maturity journey” approach, and by involving cross-functional stakeholders rather than treating it as another IT problem. He added that process and data mapping shouldn’t purely be viewed from a data privacy perspective, as other IT standards and frameworks, for example, NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO 27000 and COBIT, would benefit significantly from being able to provide organizations with much-needed business context.
The audience left the presentation looking at data mapping as a maturity journey which could support other IT compliance programs.
SureCloud is a premium sponsor of the 2018 ISACA North American CACS.
